BotSoc and Woolies Support Conservation

botsoc and woolies support conservationThe Botanical Society of SA in partnership with Woolworths are proud to share that two bags have been designed in support of Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers (CREW) of SANBI, and are in stalls since December 2013.

BotSoc thanks Woolworths for this wonderful partnership opportunity and support for these stunning reusable bags, promoting recycling and supporting conservation of our country's precious floral heritage.
Woolworths will be stocking two reusable ‘botanical bags’ to champion wild flower conservation and highlight some of South Africa’s most threatened plants on a national basis.

Made by a community project, the bags feature information on two critically endangered plants in South Africa, and offer methods to help in their preservation.

“These lovely bags will be available in select Woolworths stores for members and non-members to purchase and show their support,” said BotSoc executive director Zaitoon Rabaney.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Woolworths in this venture and hope that the bags will help spread BotSoc’s central message - know, grow and protect South Africa’s flora - ever more widely.”
