SKEPPIES has a New Logo
In keeping up with the times, the SKEPPIES (SKEP Partnering in your Environment) small grant fund has a new logo. The new SKEPPIES logo was inspired by nature, and signifies its vision that everyone develops through nature conservation. The circular shape conveys their belief in strength through collaboration and the explosive elements convey the idea of excitement, innovation and vision for dynamic growth with the colours symbolising the growth and life.
SKEPPIES is an innovative funding mechanism that provides financial assistance for conservation and economic development activities in the Succulent Karoo. SKEPPIES funds projects which have a nature conservation and socio-economic development goal, and has supported very innovative projects in the Succulent Karoo. SKEPPIES started as a pilot project in 2006 and holds the vision is that “everyone develops through conservation”.
“We have for a long time wanted to develop a logo for SKEPPIES that sets its identity apart from Conservation International (CI), and gives it a bit of its own brand to support the fundraising and project development work of the Fund”, said Tessa Mildenhall, the Director of Operations and Communications at Conservation South Africa (CSA). “The SKEPPIES logo has taken elements of the SKEP logo, and as you can see it works really nicely with that of the overarching SKEP programme. We are incredibly excited about this logo”, Mildenhall explained.
A five year SKEPPIES Strategy, in the form of a double sided roll fold card has also been developed. The fold card incorporates the new SKEPPIES branding and beautifully articulates the background, strategic objectives, SKEPPIES’ five year target, interesting information on the Succulent Karoo Hotspot, and the fundamental role SKEPPIES plays in building resilience to climate change, green economic development, food security and land reform.
SKEPPIES application forms and reports will now be available and downloadable from the SKEPPIES website at www.conservation.org/skeppies
