The South African National Biodiversity Institute's (SANBI’s) Biodiversity Advisor serves spatial information through its Biodiversity Geographic Information System (BGIS). BGIS is glad to announce that it has added three new tools to its interactive maps which include an Add Map Layer, Bing Maps and Google Maps.
The Add Map Layer allows the user to add a layer (or map service) from the Environmental Systems Research Institute's website (ESRI’s).
The Bing Maps opens up the external Geocortex visualization for Bing Maps, which allows user to view satellite imagery and vector imagery of roads, buildings and geography.
The Google Maps opens up the external Geocortex visualization for Google Maps, which allows users to view street maps and high resolution satellite images for most urban areas.
If you cannot see the new tools on your Advanced Toolbar, you will need to delete your browser cache.
