TMF Appoints New Manager

tmf appoints new managerLess than a month ago, Dr. Cliff Sibusiso Dlamini joined the conservation sector as the new Manager of the Table Mountain Fund (TMF). TMF is a Capital Trust Fund that develops and funds projects to protect and restore the natural wilderness of the Cape.

"My vision for TMF is to see the fund rank with the best in the world in providing cutting edge support to habitat and ecosystem conservation and restoration in the new millennium", said Dlamini.

Hailing from Swaziland, Dlamini started his career in 1993 at the Ministry of Agriculture in Swaziland after which he took up a position as senior lecturer in Social Forestry at Fort Cox College. He was also previously employed as a Parks Manager at the Municipal Council of Mbabane in Swaziland; then as the Livelihoods Advisor at World Vision International; and then as a Research Fellow at the University of Swaziland before his employment as the Manager of the Table Mountain Fund.

With qualifications from the University of Swaziland and the University of Stellenbosch where he studied Agriculture and Forest Science; Dlamini proceeded to obtain his Masters in Development Finance at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. The focus of his Masters Degree in Development Finance was on Sustainable Financing of Protected Areas within Swaziland. Cliff also has a Ph.D. in Forestry from the University of Stellenbosch which focused on improving policy and strategy development for the sustainable management of Non-timber Forest Products in Swaziland.  

Dlamini is also an active member of the African Forest Forum, the Southern Africa Climate Change Network and the Eco-health Network of Eastern and Southern Africa. Dlamini is also a founder and member of the Community Forestry Network in Swaziland.

This multi-lingual TMF Manager is the author of high-level documents on policy & strategy development at national, regional and international level and has over 30 publications, numerous internal scientific reports and popular articles. Dlamini also specializes in Development Finance, Forestry, Natural Resources and the Environment.
The Table Mountain Fund is a Capital Trust Fund designed to provide a sustainable source of funding to support biodiversity conservation within the Cape Floristic Region. The main objective of TMF is the conservation of biodiversity of the Cape Peninsula and the CFR as a whole, including the adjacent marine systems.
