The 15th BASIC Ministerial Meeting on Climate Change was recently held in Cape Town, and the outcomes of the meeting were released in a joint statement at the end of June 2013. The statement emphasised the role of developed countries in taking the lead in tackling climate change.
On the 3rd of July 2013, Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa launched the final version of the Second National Water Resources Strategy (NWRS2), following Cabinet’s approval of the plan the week before.
The Annual Congress of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa (GSSA) was hosted by the Limpopo Province at Weesgerus Holiday Resort and Conference Centre in Modimolle from the 15th to the 19th of July 2013. The GSSA is involved and concerned with the science and practice of range and pasture management encouraging a multi-disciplinary base, thus promoting interface amongst the various stakeholders.
