Succulent plants come in all shapes and sizes. Some of them, like baobabs and certain cacti, are enormous and able to store great quantities of water. At the other end of the scale we find the results of a trend towards reduction that can be seen in several unrelated families such as Aizoaceae, Asphodelaceae, Ateraceae, Crassulaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Portulacaceae.
From the 17th to the 19th of April, Skeppies project implementers, Conservation South Africa (CSA), Indigo Development and Change, the Heiveld Cooperative and SANBI embarked on a two and a half day learning exchange that focused on business, branding and marketing in Springbok and Nieuwoudtville.

Mainstreaming biodiversity into the mining sector was the subject of a training workshop recently attended by over 100 people. The workshop focused on the Mining and Biodiversity Guideline, as the primary tool to guide how biodiversity issues should be mainstreamed into the mining sector.
